Melissa Salchli
Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Manual Lymph drainage Therapist
I am excited, honored and humbled when a client puts their trust in me and allows me the opportunity to help them tap into the amazing healing power of their own body. I truly believe in the benefits therapeutic massage and bodywork offers to help people relax, renew and restore body, mind and spirit. Whether dealing with stress, a sports injury, health issue or chronic pain, I will customize your session using multiple modalities to help you improve the quality of your life.
I am a 2011 graduate of the SHI Integrative Medical Massage School in Lebanon, Ohio, and am licensed by the states of Ohio and Kentucky. I am also nationally certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. I discovered the power of human touch and the benefits of massage 25 years ago when my brother was undergoing treatment for leukemia. During my visits to the hospital when he was able to see visitors, I would sit with him and very gently massage his feet and legs. This simple act had the amazing effect of helping to reduce the anxiety and stress of his situation as he went through aggressive treatment to restore his health. Since then I have been a student of medical massage therapy and made the decision to leave the corporate world of direct marketing in 2010 to become a licensed massage therapist and bodyworker.
My training to-date includes the following classes and certifications: Massage in the Oncology Setting, Manual Lymph Drainage, Massage for People Living with Cancer, Deep Tissue Massage, Swedish Massage, Sports Massage, CranioSacral Therapy - Level I, Muscle Energy Techniques - Level I, Cervical and TMJ Dysfunction, Prenatal Massage, Acupressure Chair Massage, Hot Stone Therapy. I am also a Level II Reiki practitioner in the Usui line.
My goal is to assist my clients in tapping into the amazing restorative healing power of their own bodies.
